The advent of photography stirred the way visual art was perceived. Since a photograph could depict the world more accurately and realistically, artists had to reinvent themselves. Over the past few decades, life came a full circle with photography actively being used to narrate expressive stories, going beyond capturing the world as is.

Photographs capturing a fleeting moment that is entrenched in deep emotion, images that are altered to build a narrative, and innovative use of material and process are key to the curatorial vision of the exhibit.

Photo Incept aspires to bring forward the best of early to mid-career lens-based practices from the region. Taking a mentor first approach, we aim to provide a platform that expands the artistic approach and appreciation for photographic works.
