Incept in Baroda

Faculty of Fine Arts at MS University in Baroda was founded in 1950. For the first time in independent India, a program of study was introduced to offer courses and research facilities in the field of arts. It was envisaged that art is an integral part of life for the new citizens. The establishment evolved to gain a reputation of the foremost institution of the country for contemporary art education. With pedagogues like KG Subramanyan, Gulam Mohammed Sheikh, and Jyotsna and Jyoti Bhatt, MS University remains one of the most sought after till date. Art Incept made its maiden trip to attend the annual student exhibit, coupled with studio visits and artist interactions in the summer of 2024. Incept at Baroda presents carefully selected artists that are skillfully breaking the boundaries.
